Limbach COO to Participate in Construction Safety Webinar

PITTSBURGH, PA  - Limbach Holdings, Inc. Chief Operating Officer Kris Thorne will serve on a panel of industry experts today, October 19, during Engineering News-Record’s free webinar, “Building a Culture of Quality and Safety – One Hard Hat at a Time.”  Designed  to educate on the relationship between safety, quality, speed and schedule within the construction industry, the webinar will begin at 2:00 PM EST.

Four main learning objectives have been outlined for the webinar.  Thorne will speak mainly to the benefits of establishing a behavioral-based safety culture versus the traditional approach, as well as the development of an improved safety culture through quality management and effective communication.  The other webinar takeaways will include identifying the 16 precursors of serious incidents and fatalities plus the “technical only” risk treatment pitfalls.

“You have to do it this way because ‘I told you so’ just doesn’t work,” Thorne explained.  “Instead, if you explain the ‘why’, then everyone is more apt to share in that core value and act on it accordingly.”

Throughout the industry, Limbach is recognized as a leader in safety delivered through the company’s commitment to their We Care and Hearts & Minds culture.

“Limbach continues to distinguish itself as our most productive, professional and safest specialty contractor partner on the project,” emphasized Tony O’Dea, Sr. Risk Engineer with Zurich Services "Corporation”.

Other webinar panelists will include Dr. Matthew Hallowell, President’s Teaching Scholar and Professor of Construction Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder and Carl Johansen, Section Manager for Consolidated Edison Company of New York.  Register for the free webinar at
