LEDS Presenting on The Essentials of Indoor Air Quality for Facility Managers

The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) will be hosting a webinar on “The Essentials of Indoor Air Quality for Facility Managers” from 12 PM noon to 1PM EST on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

Key topics that will be addressed are:
Getting the facts on how IAQ impacts Core Facility Maintenance strategies.
Understanding what defines the ASHRAE 62.1 guidelines and how can you implement policies to improve and maintain IAQ in buildings, while at the same time reducing overall energy consumption.

Panelists will include Shawn Murphy, Vice President of Limbach Engineering & Design Services and Brandon Via, Senior Mechanical Engineer of Limbach Engineering & Design Services. The webinar presentation will be followed by Q&A.

About the Panelists:

Shawn Murphy, Vice President
Limbach Engineering and Design Services

Mr. Murphy has served as a mechanical engineer for Limbach Engineering & Design Services (LEDS) since May 1999 and is currently the Vice President of LEDS responsible for the Orlando Design Center including the MEP Engineering, Conceptual Engineering/Estimating, and BIM Planning departments. During his tenure at LEDS, Mr. Murphy has been responsible for the engineering design of mechanical systems serving facilities including office buildings, hotels, laboratories, hospitals, nursing homes, fire stations, sporting arenas, warehouses, retail malls, indoor swimming pools, parking garages, dormitories, churches, and schools. Mr. Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 1990 from Clemson University, and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 from the University of Central Florida. Mr. Murphy is a registered professional engineer in the states of Florida, Maryland, Virginia, and Michigan. He is a member of ASHRAE and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the USGBC.

Brandon Via, Senior Mechanical Engineer

Mr. Via joined Limbach Engineering and Design Services as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in July of 2018. Since his time at LEDS, Mr. Via has served as the design lead for several mechanical-heavy healthcare projects and UCLA's Residence Hall Renovation as well. Before Brandon joined LEDS, he worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center facilities group where he was involved in setting owner project requirements, drawing reviews, site inspections/quality control, and was the main source for providing innovative solutions for any maintenance and control issues that arose for their mechanical systems. Mr. Via has extensive mechanical design expertise and also has the unique knowledge of the project design process from the owner's perspective as well.
