THE CHALLENGE.
For this data center campus, the primary challenge was securing and managing sufficient skilled manpower to meet an aggressive schedule while maintaining uncompromising quality standards. The scale of the project demanded substantial staffing levels without sacrificing safety or productivity. Simultaneously, stacked trades operating within confined mechanical spaces heightened the risk of congestion, coordination conflicts, and installation inefficiencies. Given the operational sensitivity of a mission-critical environment, precision in mechanical installation was essential, as any deviation could impact long-term reliability, system performance, and uptime. The owner required a delivery strategy capable of managing this complexity, mitigating execution risk, and ensuring consistent performance throughout all phases of construction.
THE SOLUTION.
Through a strategic joint venture, the team combined capacity and technical expertise to deliver the complete mechanical & plumbing scope, with a strong emphasis on prefabrication. Leveraging decades of offsite manufacturing experience, the team integrated BIM/VDC into planning and production to drive dimensional accuracy and reduce field congestion. Multi-trade corridor racks, skid assemblies, and preassembled components were fabricated offsite to improve quality control, compress installation schedules, and minimize onsite labor density. In parallel, the team introduced value-engineering initiatives during design and coordination phases, identifying opportunities to optimize system layouts, reduce material waste, streamline installation sequencing, and enhance constructability. This combined approach improved efficiency, reduced risk, and delivered a high-quality mechanical solution aligned with the owner’s performance and schedule expectations.
