Embrace on the Road: One Idea with Monumental Community and Company Impact 1500 1125 Limbach | A building systems solution firm for mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems

In the Fall of 2023, Limbach’s Embrace Forum launched the first annual Embrace on the Road program— an initiative that inspires employees to join together and take action. It all started with an out-of-the-box idea from Robert Rhodes, Limbach Ohio’s General Manager and Treasurer for the Embrace Forum.

Robert’s vision was simple yet profound: to ignite a movement where our team members could step beyond the bounds of their workspaces and effect real change within our communities. It was a call to action to our employees to submit a proposal on how they believe they could create a change in their local community to foster a sense of belonging and champion inclusivity.  The response was remarkable, capturing attention and sparking enthusiasm nationwide. From Tampa Bay to Ohio, our teams took action.

In total, this initiative led to over:

  •  $8,500 in company sponsorships
  • Over 800 Community Participants
  • 5 Community Partnerships

An initiative that leverages the great ideas of our employees and empowered them to impact the communities we serve!

Limbach WPA Partnership with Mars Home for the Youth Family Services (MHY) At the heart of this partnership is a story of compassion and vital support. Mars Home for the Youth Family Services (MHY) in Warrendale stood in need. With a long list of necessary and critical facility updates, Limbach WPA stepped in to help repair the facility and build bridges of hope and opportunity for the youth inspections and maintenance. Besides the technical repair work we could support, we also partnered with MHY to offer mentorship-driven opportunities, shedding light on construction careers and the opportunities it could lead to. 01/05 Harper Tampa: Partnership with Tampa Bay Technical High School Led by the passionate trio of Kay McKellar, Rob Davidson, and Erich Museunterman, Harper Tampa embarked on a mission to share insight into the vast career opportunities within the construction industry. Our team met with e TBT’s local welding and automotive students to discuss how the construction industry offers a lifetime of career path opportunities. Through an engaging presentation and conducted an open Q&A session, students engaged with examples of leaders who built their career in construction. 02/05 Limbach Ohio: Local #189 Plumbers & Pipefitters Diversity Committee Stacie DiNovo, Limbach’s Ohio Local #189 Pipefitter, set out to create a culture of belonging and inclusivity within the Local #189 pipefitter community. Stacie has spearheaded several events to bring people together such as food drives for Thanksgiving, partnering with the Salvation Army during the holiday season to give back, a Super Bowl kick off party and a MLK Day breakfast to name a few. By creating regular events that engage members, Stacie hopes to build community, and help those in need. 03/05 Harper Orlando: Partnership with Orange Technical College In Orlando, Harper took strides towards cultivating future talent in the HVAC industry. By partnering with Orange Technical College, we opened the doors of opportunity for aspiring technicians. Beyond the classroom, students received first hand exposure to our culture and values. Through product training sessions and live demonstrations, we not only showcased our expertise but also inspired a new generation to pursue careers in the skilled trades. 04/05 Limbach Mid-Atlantic’s Partnership with the MCCEI Organization In the Mid-Atlantic region, Limbach became a Corporate Sponsor for MCCEI (Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation), which has a mission to inspire, educate, and connect a diverse population to careers in the built environment and they are committed to making careers in the built environment attractive and accessible to all. Through sponsorship, we not only contributed financially but also pledged our support in bridging the gap between aspiration and opportunity. This partnership wasn't just about writing checks; it was about actively shaping a future where everyone has a seat at the table. 05/05
