PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The project consists of expansive recovery & remediation to large portion of a 250,000 square foot hospital to quickly bring care back to a community that was significantly impacted by hurricane Ian in late 2022. The remediation included a multi-phase approach to re-open critical care components in a prioritized manner:
- Phase 1 – ED, Imaging, Lab, Pharmacy
- Phase 2 – Central Sterile, Cath, Pre-op, Surgery, 33 Private M/S, 2 Semi-private M/S
- Phase 3 & 4 – Doctor’s Lounge, 26 Semi-private M/S
- Phase 5 & 6 – 3rd and 4th floor M/S & ICU
- Roof and Damaged RTU replacement
The critical nature of the schedule made the project especially challenging, requiring the coordination of several work scopes at the same time, with plans rapidly developing and changing while the work was ongoing. The project team was able to identify the damaged areas of the building, prioritize the work into phases, procure materials and labor, and reconstruct spaces all in less than 3 months.
