THE CHALLENGE.
For this new 756,000-square-foot, 12-story, 309-bed patient tower, our team was challenged with building the mechanical and plumbing systems and supporting structure while accounting for the limited schedule and the need for seismic bracing.
THE SOLUTION.
To meet the schedule and account for the seismic bracing requirements our team:
- Designed the MEP racks so they were connected to the building structure to meet the seismic requirements
- Developed a prefabrication plan to build the MEP corridor rack systems offsite in our controlled fabrication shop so our team could build and prep the site simultaneously to save time in the schedule
