OVERVIEW.
The Pioneer Power team played a key role in the conversion of Xcel Energy’s High Bridge facility from a coal-fired power plant to a natural gas-fired generating station. As part of the balance of plant scope, the team installed more than 50,000 linear feet of piping ranging from main steam systems to small-bore utility piping, along with associated process equipment and over 3,500 engineered pipe supports.
Working within an aggressive nine-month schedule, Pioneer Power successfully managed a peak workforce of 140 skilled craftspeople while coordinating complex mechanical installations critical to plant operations. The project helped modernize the facility, significantly reduce emissions, and support increased power generation capacity while meeting all project milestones
