THE CHALLENGE.

Due to the ever-changing healthcare codes, Mount Carmel East was in need of a new air handling unit system to meet the new air quality requirements and to ensure safety and compliance for the patients, staff, and building occupants.

  • Maintaining the AHU system as a whole throughout the active hospital as the replacement took place
  • The rising cost and availability of construction materials and equipment drove the project cost up and jeopardized their capital expenditure schedule

THE SOLUTION.

To help get the project back within budget, we procured the equipment and materials before the construction design was completed to lock in the lower equipment and material costs. To limit the disruption to the hospital during the replacement, our team strategically relocated the air handling unit and worked diligently with the hospital staff to coordinate when the work would take place to ensure we did not disrupt any hospital activities.
