Hearts and Hands: A Year of Giving Back and Making a Difference

At Limbach, we believe in the power of giving, and this year, our Hearts and Hands Employee Resource Group (ERG) took that belief to new heights. With over 200 volunteers and 13 organizations impacted, this group has become a driving force for positive change. The Hearts and Hands group is on a mission to provide opportunities and encourage our employees to make a difference by giving back to our local communities, embodying Limbach’s We Care culture. To learn more about our commitment to DEIB and our other ERGs, visit our Embrace page on our company website.

Hearts & Hands Co-Chair leader Michelle Sanford shares her passion for being an example and encouraging others to be selfless in volunteering and serving others. “I want to encourage others to understand that being part of a community and helping others leads to a feeling of belonging and fosters a sense of teamwork,” Michelle adds.

Standing alongside Michelle is Hearts & Hands Co-Chair Jessica Samuels, who shares her passion for giving back. Growing up in a family deeply involved in community activities, Jessica learned early on the impact of small gestures. Joining Limbach reinforced her belief in the core value of “We Care,” extending beyond the workplace. With Hearts and Hands, she created a space for individuals like herself to support and give back in collaboration.

One Warm Coat Drive: Spreading Warmth Across Communities

Hearts and Hands kicked off with a company-wide initiative – the One Warm Coat Drive. From September through October, our employees rallied together, collecting an impressive 256 coats and raising $2,395. This effort aimed to bring warmth to communities nationwide, symbolizing the generosity that defines Limbach.

Feeding Tampa Bay: A Local Response to Food Insecurity

Recognizing the pressing issue of food security, our Tampa team, led by Chief People, Culture, and Marketing Officer Melissa DiMuro and Chief Financial Officer Jayme Brooks, joined forces with Feeding Tampa Bay to give back to the local Tampa community. Within four hours, our team hit a new record and assembled over 1,000 food boxes to provide to those affected in the area by Hurricane Idalia. After grinding it out at the Feeding Tampa Bay warehouse, the Tampa team got into action and organized a successful food drive. With contributions from everyone in the office, Limbach was able to donate just under 100 lbs of food, providing 82 meals for those in need. Melissa DiMuro was seen on Bay News 9, shedding light on the organization’s efforts and emphasizing the importance of unified action.
